With DJs
TOMMY FLOWERS
No stranger to a pair of turntables, Tommy Flowers is a London ex-pat who now dwells on Auckland’s West Coast. He keeps up to the minute with all the latest goings on in UK and Jamaican influenced music - as with his Friday Drive show selections on Base Fm expect to hear anything from Dubstep to UK Funky, Tropical to Dancehall and Jungle mixed in a rudeboy style.
TROPICAL KID
The multi dimensional Tropical Kid (aka Frosty Boy) will be bringing his eclectic mix of UK Funky, Tropical and Dubstep styles including his own productions all mixed up using Ableton Live for something truly unique. Check his forthcoming self released EP on Hoiho Recordings.
PIXELL
Playing what he calls Future Bass music, a mash up of 80, 130 and 140 bpm riddims. Recently supported Freestylers & Foreign Beggars as well as Noah D & Trolley Snatcha at the Easter Weekender. Off to the UK on an OE soon where he plans to up his production game and with a forthcoming EP to be released Pixell is def one to watch.
AMIGA5HNDRD & SAM NOON
Not much is known about this mysterious duo except that they are Dubstyle Sessions residents and have an ear for exceptionally crafted bass music across the 120-140 bpm spectrum. That means Dubstep, Detroit influenced Dub Techno, UK Funky and wonky Future Beats all get a look in.
DAPHT ONE
Dubstyle’s resident host MC Dapht One will also be DJing on the night. Expect to hear heavyweight Dubstep tunes mixed up with reggae influenced skankers, Grime and UK Funky riddims.
